For approximately 25 years, the Deerfield Park Foundation has made
contributions to support and enhance the programs and services of the
Deerfield Park District. Below are some of the ways the Foundation has
been involved and has made a positive impact on our community:
- Volunteering and other support for district-wide events - Halloween Hoopla, Triathlon, Deer Dash and more
- ThorGard Lightning Prediction System - financial support
- Kiddie Pool at Mitchell Park/Pool - total commitment of $75,000 over a five year time period
- Free Swimming at Mitchell and Deerspring Pools on July 4th - sponsored annually
- Gazebo at Maplewood Park - financial assistance
- Statues to beautify our parks - Flag and Eagle Statue dedicated to "all veterans of all wars," statues of children at Jewett Park
- Community Services Day 2005, 2006, 2007: Entertainment Sponsor and manning of a booth
- "Deerfield's most accessible playground" at Deerspring Park - total commitment of $75,000 over a five year span (ongoing)
- Grants-in-Aid (Scholarships) - typically a $15,000 commitment annually to assist those in serious financial need
