FOUNDATION'S 1ST ART AUCTION ON JANUARY 19, 2008 - A GRAND EVENT!

The Foundation hosted its first fundraising Art Auction event on Saturday evening, January 19, 2008, at the Renaissance North Shore Hotel, in Northbrook. This "Extravaganza of Impressive Art," was open to all interested individuals and featured an art auction by Park West Gallery of numerous pieces of art and collectibles by various artists and in many price ranges. Visiting Artist Marcus Glenn, a short "art history" presentation for art novices, a delicious buffet dinner and chances at valuable door prizes culminated in an overall entertaining event and successful fundraiser. A surprise addition of unique jewelry and fine watches complemented the artwork as auction items. We met our maximum of 120 guests that the ballroom could accommodate; and everyone seemed to enjoy the gala event.

The Foundation hopes to repeat the event. Anyone interested in art (and possibly jewelry and watches) who would like to be added to the mailing list for 2009 or beyond (or for more information) please email darla@dfpd.org or call 847-945-0650.

Kelly Miller Event raises more than $16,000

In fall, 2007, the Deerfield District 109 Education Foundation and the Deerfield Park Foundation sponsored a popular event - the Kelly Miller Cirus. More than 1500 attendees enjoyed the acrobats, jugglers, dog and pony show, elephants, camels and more. More than $16,000 was raised during the two shows in September, with proceeds split evenly between both Foundations. Below are a few of the highlights.
