20th Anniversary of Moonlight Golf

Get your team of up to six (6) players together (must be 21 years or up) for Moonlight Golf 2010, on Friday, August 27, 5:45 p.m. at Deerfield Golf Club. HELICOPTER BALL DROP at Community Services Day

WE'VE GOT YOUR NUMBER - Get your own Numbered Golf Ball to be dropped from a helicopter hovering over Brickyard Park on 9/11.

During the September 11, 2010 Community Services Day event at Brickyard Park in Deerfield, the Deerfield Park Foundation is offering our 1st Helicopter Ball Drop Event -to take place at approximately 3:30 p.m. The Foundation is selling tickets corresponding to numbered golf balls for $20 each. Cash prizes ranging from $100 to $500 will be awarded to the three balls landing in or closest to the "winners' cirlce." And, a valuable coupon will be provided to each contributor. A maximum of 600 numbered golf balls will be involved. Winners need not be present. In case of inclement weather and inability of helicopter to do the drop, an alternate method for selection of winners will take place.

Deerfield Park Foundation is Entertainment Sponsor for the Sept. 11 Community Services Day conducted at Brickyard Park and the Patty Turner Center. Community Services Day runs from 12-4 p.m. The purpose of this free, fun event for all iis to promote services available to community residents and includes entertainment, information, inflatable rides for children, and more. Community Services Day is hosted by the Deerfield-Bannockburn Fire Protection District, Deerfield and Bannockburn Police Departments, Deerfield Park District, and the Village of Deerfield. Many local community service agencies and clubs participate. The venue remains free of charge to the public through generous contributions from Astellas Pharma US, Inc., The John Buck Company, and the Deerfield Park Foundation. Jewell Contract Dining contributes lunches for the event workers.

Community Services Day is held rain or shine with indoor and/or outdoor venues including police canine, safety and other demonstrations; interactive educational exhibits; inflatable rides; “Touch-a-Truck;” magician and balloon twisters; blood pressure check ups; cholesterol and glucose testing; and a special competition between area mascots. A DUI simulated driving experience was added last year and will be repeated. An Art Tent, manned by 6th grade volunteers from Bannockburn School and sponsored by the PTOs of School District 109, promises to once again be a hit. Watch for details later in summer.
